Not too long ago, when she answered the same type of question (the balloon confusion, I think), she gave a very different toned answer. Super condescending and smarmy. This is not that.
I’m not american and almost every video I’ve seen featuring this woman she is laughing at the questions being made to her. Is she okay?

Let’s be fair — the WH press secretary is not privy to this kind of information. Plausible deniability is the security blanket for all public officials like this.
Her smug response is frustrating, sure. However, it is not unexpected. The fact that the question is being asked at all is a small step forward.
The fact is — Grusch, Coulthart et. al are accusing elements of the DOD of criminal behavior. That shouldn’t be taken lightly — even by this amateur reporter, who could barely suppress a giggle.
