  1. Lead with this quote which is everything wrong with the situation — «with a grin».

«I will continue to see,» McCarthy told reporters with a grin. «But I think if we had found a UFO, I think the Department of Defense would tell us because they would probably want to request more money.»

    Jeeeezzzz. Disgusting.

Still happy news outlets are at least reporting on it.

  2. Why was this written specifically to disregard the bipartisan support for UAP? It’s making it seem like this is some big GOP freakish conspiracy theory like 5G or whatever.

    >The hearing comes after **Republican lawmakers** have promised to look deeper into UAPs following unconfirmed claims from a former intelligence officialthat the U.S. military had allegedly found crashed alien spacecraft.

It has never just been Republican lawmakers. It has been lawmakers from both sides, IIRC moreso Democrats. Despite this, they only name Tim Burchett, Luna, and Kevin McCarthy. No coverage of the UAP Disclosure Act, signed by Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and co-signed by 3 Dems and 3 Republicans.

The fact that they end it on the quote from Kirkpatrick that says that most of the objects are mundane, while objectively true, paints the topic in a dismissive light without proper context of what the *small percentage of truly anomalous* things can do.

Alas, any coverage from mass media is good coverage. At the very least, it gets conversations going. I emailed the ABC tips line a night or two ago asking them to run the UAP Disclosure Act and the hearings as a story, so I really am disappointed that they didn’t focus on **both** the hearings *and* the UAP Disclosure Act.

  3. >Sean Kirkpatrick, the director of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, told a Senate subcommittee in April «only a very small percentage» of UAP reports could be described as «anomalous.»
«The majority of unidentified objects reported to AARO demonstrate mundane characteristics of balloons, unmanned aerial systems, clutter, natural phenomena, or other readily explainable sources,» he said at the time.

That is almost a deceptive way to put it. We do not care about the non-anomalous cases. We know balloons fly in the air. We don’t need Kirkpatrick to tell us there are balloons in the air. We just want to know if anything else but an NHI can account for the anomalous UAP reports. That is what AARO is for.

  4. I despise the partisan spin and blatant politicization that is being shoehorned onto this issue by the Mainstream media.

You’d get the vibe that this is another tin foil hat Right-wing conspiracy theory being explored by the House by reading this article when even Chuck Schumer wrote legislation on UAPs and Non-human intelligence.

I can’t think of many other things that are more disgusting and disingenuous than this kind of reporting.

Shame on the gutless cowards who run the mainstream media for not giving such a big story fair coverage. May they all be remembered as the spineless hacks they are when the truth comes out.

  5. So assume for just a sec that it’s *not* some kinda NHI/alien

What does congress actually end up getting from this? That’s the whole goal, right?

A lot of the snippets of the language in the bill/amendment I’ve seen are pretty specific.

So someone more diligent/versed than me in the language & overall bill, what sort of info could congress get?

I’m just struggling to imagine what sort of dog and pony show you’d use freaking *aliens* as a cover for.

Of course there’s always the possibilities of Grusch lying (or having been lied to/mislead) but until we know more from the hearing I didn’t want to speculate more on that.

Seizure of some sort of advanced tech that they think is gonna be a smuggled to China/Russia? Doesn’t seem like you’d need all this.. for that?

  6. >The Pentagon has said it hasn’t discovered any information to substantiate this claim.

I’m assuming this is referring to Susan Ghoul’s boilerplate response, «AARO has not discovered any verifiable information to substantiate claims that any programs regarding the possession or reverse-engineering of extraterrestrial materials have existed in the past or exist currently.” There are a number of problems with that statement, and it’s not a denial that the program exists, it’s responding for AARO (not the Pentagon) saying it hasn’t received any information it verified. AARO doesn’t have title 50 authorities and it is not an investigative body, just a passive receiver of reports. I wish MSM would stop misrepresenting what is actually being said.

  7. I swear reddit and a someordinarygamers video are the only ones talking about this. Are there no tiktoks about it? I would have thought aliens being real would be a lot bigger of a deal than it is. But everyone i talk to looks at me like I have 3 heads and have no idea what I’m talking about. But they scroll tiktok 10x more than I scroll reddit so how come no one has seen this

  8. One of the main downsides of the mainstream coverage is how they have to add a million caveats with a ‘nothing to see here’ attitude. Especially considering landmark legislation introduced prior to this piece so it doesn’t need to rely solely on the McCarthy quote

  9. It is NHI or reverse engineered NHI tech and we will be shown evidence. They are simply past other possibilities. That is the intent of the government and these hearings, whatever MIC, MSM or anyone else thinks about it. They want this tech out so becomes legit and legalised ASAP. They see the huge potential in such tech and science for the benefit of all. I think that’s why they are in such a hurry. It is not gonna be a witchunt I think, but assassinations and such much be dealt with.
