As a child, we lived next to a cow pasture. I remember my dad coming home from work, he was still in his police uniform when a craft shined a light on a cow. We saw weird things often being near a military base, but this was different. It was low and wasnt solid black like the weird military vehicles we’d seen off and on. No markings and no sound from what he remembers.
Without hesitation, my good ol boy father grabs his «service pistol» which was a .357. He went to the backyard and popped off a few rounds at the very low flying object. He claims he hit. The light went off after the first hit and it took off the second he fired again. It’s not as cool as firing 2 million dollar missles, but I thought this sub might enjoy the tale.
Why shoot? I wouldn’t mess with things I know nothing about. I come in peace.
It’s a weird idea that we may be shooting at these craft, possibly belonging to a civilization possessing tech that is far ahead of what we possess. You would think that presenting hostility would be the last thing that humanity would want to occur, unless we were facing Klingons or Borg or the War of the Worlds craft or something like that where our posture didn’t matter.

2: They have been for a long time
3: They are powerfull beyond our comprehension
4: They generally dont harm us
Is asking the friend or foe question really neccesesary? To me it seems like they go out of their way to NOT harm us, but still hide from plain sight.
My conclusion is that if they are neither enemy or ally they must be observers. And are very adamant on being just that. Data collectors.

The «weird looking orb within an orb» is just an out of focus light source. That’s so fucking obvious to anyone who’s ever used a camera, I have no idea how they could (pretend to) be this baffled.
This series really made me think that the government doesn’t have actual UFOs nor do they know what they really are.

Nah. Theirs a story from the Korean War of some troops guarding a position an a ufo Flys up to their position thinking it was a Korean aircraft they fire but all the big stuff missed. A soldier who had armor piercing round shot at it and he hit it heard the bullet smack the craft, then the ufo hit em with some kinda sound weapon I think. Been awhile since I read the account tho.
