Context helps a lot. Meta info is often overlooked, many people following the topic will spot an «old school» (pre AI) fake just from that: usually, pics do not involve humans standing next to the UFO, having physical easy access to them. It’s usually a fast flying, often blurry pic.
It will just get harder to discern. Eventually you will not be able to visually pick out one pic to be «real» over the other. You will need to rely on corroborating evidence. Stuff like «what is the alibi of the person showing us this image»

Because of AI, just treat any images with a strong dose of skepticism. While there are things that sometimes stand out, like garbled faces or wonky hands, these will only get better as time goes on.
As someone who uses Midjourney a lot, it’s blown me away how much more realistic things have gotten in only the past year.
Yeah, I was thinking either disclosure has to happen or AI will make it impossible because nobody will believe it is real. Perhaps that’s the alien’s plan. Sneeeky aleeins!

Fakes used to be noticeable with VFX/CGI especially homemade ones, now it’s AI. With even more advancements in AI, it’s going to be incredibly difficult to differentiate between what’s real and what is fake. I wish all these generated images have some kind of ‘watermark’ (that doesn’t get in the way too much of the image) to indicate AI generated. Maybe eventually in the future there could be laws being enforced to have this happen.

only if the faker is incompetent. there are already «face fixer» AI models you use on images after they got generated by other AI models to fix the faces so they look normal. same goes for stuff like hands. those models are this days really good and fix this things. so faces aren’t really an good indiciation anymore.
Do people not know about the metadata associated with a raw image from a camera? Easiest way to debunk these.

A good way to tell: if the image is obviously fake, it’s fake Photoshop has existed for 30 years.
AI-generated images (from online apps like stable diffusion) get fingers and toes wrong, limbs are misaligned or mis-attributed between adjacent bodies.

Aren’t all pictures that are clear enough to see faces fabricated?
Illogical details is a giveaway, especially in strictly logical areas (hands, material structures, words, etc)
Faces and hands can be a tell if its ai-generated but with Midjourney v5 and photoshops new ai-generative tools they can be done perfect, ai is evolving and the tools are getting better with rapid pace and sometimes you just cant tell anymore.
AI tends to fuck up hands/fingers. Sometimes appendages are anatomically incorrect.
So they just standing there like this shit happens every day of the week?
