Новые документы FOIA показывают, что правительство Ирландии не знало, как сообщить о первом обнаружении UAP за десятилетие.

I’m not surprised by any of this. There is a fierce stigma here about UAP. We are easily 10 years behind any other nation on the subject. As said before, we can barely keep an eye on ourselves, let alone anything anomalous.
Not too long ago Ireland AM had Jeremy Corbell on early morning for an interview. And of course it was X-Files music and UFO jokes the whole way through. Embarrassing.
Our government are too busy lining their own pockets as landlords and experts in brown envelope deliveries.
Any other Irish folk here? Tell me I’m not alone in my misery with how terrible our government are!!
More news regarding UFO reporting programs (or the lack thereof) from other countries. Per the FOIA, the public is putting increasing pressure on the government of Ireland to follow in the US’ footsteps for public disclosure — particularly given the Island’s rich (and continued) history with UAP sightings.
**Here’s a ChatGPT summary of the article:**
* A FOI request has revealed that Ireland is ill-prepared to monitor unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) or UFO sightings.
* The documents show that a resident from Kilcock had contacted a senior official in the Department of Transport in September 2019 to report unexplainable nightly lights in the sky, but officials were unable to address the issue or identify the appropriate authority to handle it.
* The official who received the report from Kilcock contacted a colleague in the Air Navigation Services Division at the Department of Transport, who replied that they had no involvement in space-related matters.
* The confusion continued, with no clear resolution on who should handle the sighting. The Defence Forces stated that they had no engagement with the US or other governments regarding unidentified aerial phenomena.
* The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) had previously investigated reports of UFOs off the coast of Kerry in November 2018 but reached an inconclusive conclusion in May of the following year.
* A member of the public wrote to the Department of The Taoiseach in June 2021, questioning who within the government was responsible for dealing with UFO sightings. They asked whether any plans for disclosure were imminent given the aviation threats that UAPs pose and the steps the US is currently taking.
* The Department of Defence responded, suggesting that the Irish Aviation Authority may be best suited to handle monitoring Irish airspace.
* The FOI did not provide a clear conclusion on how UFO sightings are being monitored in Ireland, leaving the matter unresolved.
Also, I am 1000% convinced the «member of the public» that wrote to put pressure on the government in 2021 was one of you guys lol
We don’t even have a primary radar system here in Ireland to monitor our own airspace for suspicious drones and foreign aircraft that shouldn’t be there.
We are entirely reliant on the UK/RAF to do it for us.
So there’s no real surprise there’s no official body to report to.
Sure the Russian Navy has been camping off the coast of Ireland with fears they might interfere with the transatlantic communication cables between North American and Europe. Our solution? To send out 2 ancient CASA CN235s sparingly to keep tabs on them.
