When I saw the documentary by JC, first impression was blown away, loved the doc, but I genuinely hated the fucking editing and the cringe narration by Mickey Rourke, who I could barely understand, were the cons to the pros of that doc.

I took Bob as genuine by first impression. His mannerisms when speaking, his tone, the uncomfortable thoughts before formulating the right words, and the fact it was the earliest time I was aware reverse engineering was even mentioned (if anyone has earlier date, please inform me!)

Why the eff would he be lying about this? Seriously. There is nothing to gain but ridicule. Especially for a PILOT. Had he come out while he was flying he’d have been grounded and never flown again. That’s why a lot of the old guys never came out until practically their deathbeds with the actual truth. I knew Dave. He was legit. I asked him for an autograph after I first met him and he signed one of his business cards for me. People didn’t seem to be as excited about him as I was haha. He brought me a bunch of his books about ancient civilizations. He left a boarding pass in one of them. One knock on Bob that I hear, is that he gave that original shadow interview from John Lear’s driveway. My thinking is:
1) John Lear grew to gain extremely high clearance because of who he was related to and his career path
2) John Lear would have access to S4/Area 51 security buildings via the hand scanner and could share that info with Bob
3) John Lear is a kook and I can’t trust any information from him

How is it that Bob became friends with John Lear? Lear wasn’t exactly a nobody. And I’m pretty sure they were friends before Bob became “famous”.
