I feel like there was an old sci fi movie I watched as a kid that had “Tommyknockers”,
If you watch the full video, he talks about it being lore and that they would leave a can of tobacco for good luck.
He wasn’t claiming the tommy knockers were some real beings they encountered.

The tommyknockers are simple creatures they like mining, smokes, and bacon and as long as you treat them with respect they can lead miners to riches and safety. If you fuck with them they can cause mischief from stealing tools, leading miners astray in the caves, and causing cave ins. That’s all I know about them.
If anyone is interested in strange mythical creatures hanging out in caves, I highly recommend the documentary series Helier.
I recommend Tommyknockers Brewery/Tavern in Silverthorne Colorado for a **real** Tommyknocker experience.
They have great root beer and cream soda too.
So they left a can of tobacco at «Ground Zero» so the Tommyknockers would give us good luck??

Tommy knockers aren’t aliens. They’re generally referred to as ghosts.
There’s a 2022 film called “night of the tommyknockers” on plex, Tubi, and Prime.

I just finished reading tommyknockers, it was a fun read, but really said about that poor dog.
I thought of Stephen King right away. God that book was so uncomfortable and hard to read. It just dragged on.

Think I read somewhere that the knockers had a very logical explanation that when the rocks in the mining tunnels began to shift and give way it would sound like knocking. No impish creatures needed.

Thank god we don’t all automatically believe and take literally everything everybody says. People really are dumbed down.
No I don’t know if he’s being literal. But you don’t just hear somethin and run a mile with it before checking.
