13 июня на сайте Forbes была опубликована статья о претензиях Дэвида Груша, написанная старшим автором Forbes Дани Ди Пласидо (см. ссылку ниже). Вот мой ответ на эту статью.

Get used to this. People are so conditioned that UFOs = fantasy that there will be resistance every step of the way.
There are people who have literally never considered for a moment that any of this is real and will have to go through all the stages of denial — and some of these people are journalists!

The author needs to learn that the more complicated a technological device is, the more opportunities it has to fail. Technological advancement will never become infallible.
Forbes is a magazine for powerful people, and people who want to be powerful. Not at all surprised that they are out batting for the private sector sycophantes who have a deeply invested interest in keeping this technology to themselves.
I read this article too. The author and Mick West contradict themselves repeatedly and show a blatant disregard for their own hypocrisy.
1. These vehicles wouldn’t crash if they were actually real
How tf would you know? You’re slamming David Grusch for making basic assumptions and here you are, also making basic assumptions.
2. The government wouldn’t have let Grusch speak if he was telling the truth because it implicates them
The government isn’t a hivemind. It is compartmentalized, and in some cases different agencies and groups have hostile infighting. This has been constantly explained by people who work in the government, even outside of the topic of UFOs. A very ignorant and lazy take.
3. He’s regurgitating popular tropes
Ok, so let me get this straight. You think an intelligence officer, who has been thoroughly vetted and verified, would give up his career and face prison time for perjury, because he wanted to play make-believe? Are you that delusional?
I think it is important to keep an open mind. And if people have legitimate criticisms of Grusch I am all for entertaining skepticism. But these arguments are so lazy and stupid it blows my mind they get any attention. Just another day in clown world i suppose
I think given where we are with this story a week later, we just have to call our reps to find out when the IG and the government will respond. The Pentagon has already drawn the line across this accusation so their opinion is known
How anyone could think that we are alone is manifesting ignorance on such a level that I can’t manage discourse. (Like talking to MAGA people. No words to say. won’t waste the O2) The Hubble deep field images blew my mind back in the mid 90s. That the darkest section of space , divided by pixels into 1 million points, and they focus on a section of the firmament that is as big as a grain of sand held at arms length reveals hundreds ,of not stars, but galaxies ,was mind-boggling. There is no way that we are alone in this vastness.
You know what’s interesting:
When Forbes makes the claim, “would never crash”, it actually brought to mind the question raised by Vallee in his book, “Passport to Magonia.” He posited, (my words, don’t have the page number handy) “why does it seem to almost be ‘patterned’ in their crashing?” He referenced how even before the UFOs looked like what we view them as (read: as flying airships with anchors that would get “stuck”, p. 152) there seemed to be the same modus operandi. The implication being that what may look like an accident may not be an accident.
All that to say, if Forbes actually did research, they’d see a pattern. They’d follow the lead, and realize there’s an element of historical eyewitness eyewitness to corroborate claims going back *a very long time*.
Highly recommend reading Vallee’s book. It provides an inordinate amount of case studies to consider beyond the single idea of «alien» life form.
It blows my mind how a lot of the «no evidence» crowd seem not to understand what classified means and the consequences of improperly disclosing this information in a televised interview. He already handed the evidence to the proper authorities inside the DOD. Mr. Grusch has so far played things by the book, do you all expect him to throw his life away and go to prison disclosing documents that the majority of people would classify as fake anyway? The way he’s going about it is very reasonable. Give it time and if he’s lying, charge him with perjury and throw him in jail. However, everything I’ve seen so far lends credence to his claims.
The author’s op-ed is bad, and he should feel bad. Thank you for setting the record straight OP. I have a feeling future generations will be showing such things to their children as an example of closed-minded, uncritical thinking.
I think people saying the idea of an alien crash being just impossible is kind of ridiculous.
If what Grusch claims is true, NHI have been visiting our planet for a very long time. We don’t have any concept of how many craft have been on our planet. Depending on the number, the amount of crashes that have apparently occurred could be extremely low.
Obviously NHI could’ve never been here and everything could be false, but I don’t think “How could they crash if they’re so advanced?” is as good of an argument as some think considering we don’t actually know the ratio of what’s been here and what’s crashed.

Think about the audience they are targeting..rich , investor types. I guess no one wants them to pull their money out of the market and cause a crash. The energy sector companies would be wiped out if this news is confirmed.
First, «sweeping through the internet» is not limited to major news outlets. UFO/UAP/NHI/Grusch/»I have seen them!!!» searches have been trending in the past two weeks, and there has been A LOT of internet and social media chatter about this.
Second, «tangible evidence» means verifiable evidence. As such, there is none that has been presented to the world, just closed-door testimony that may or not be hearsay. We do not know the scope of evidence presented.
Third, very fair point.
Fourth, good news writers, opinion contributors or investigative journalists, usually adhere to an ethical standard of basing their reporting on verifiable facts. Granted, there are more than a few sources who back Grusch’s claims, but they too lack tangible evidence. Like, part of me fully believes that claims like this require a smoking gun. And most editors of respected newspapers will feel that same way. And the Times might just be working on a story, but you can’t just ring up the Pentagon and ask to get some background on a story like this and go to print in a few days, let alone a few weeks or months. It’s going to take time for an investigative piece to go through its process.
Finally, it’s an op-ed, one person’s opinion who is paid to be controversial and counter-point to a prevailing line of thought.
Edit: While it’s not exactly an op-ed but more a lifestyle column, it still is published as one person’s perspective on a topic.
Why do you give entity to someone you disagree with?
I never heard of this op-ed (and I get Forbes recommended a lot) and I don’t care. Who is he? Just another opinion. And now you’re publicizing him for free.
main media and pedantic OP-eds just squirting the usual skeptoporn they feed their audience with to keep them comfortable into their warm reconforting slimy wacky smelly certainties. so those alledged journalists are sure to remain the first segment of their human centipede audience.
I agree that he cannot release classified information to the public without breaking the law, but there is plenty of things he can release. For example journalists have seen the DOPSR report of what he has cleared to say with the DoD, but the public hasn’t. He released the IC IG complaint through Corbell and Knapp, but not the DoD IG complaint. He has not named anything else like the defense contractors in charge of these programs, or anything we can verify through open source records. All we have are vague statements and trust me bro because I have a clearance.
