This is the «Flashed Faces Distortion Effect.» You may want to slow down the video to half speed to get more out of it.
This distortion effect has to deal with how our brains process faces. Processing faces is incredibly complicated and uses a lot of areas within the brain in order to extract smaller details from each face. This is how we’re able to tell a friend out of thousands of faces that may be similar.
The reason I wanted to show this to everyone (besides it being cool and freaky) is that what we experience with our senses isn’t always easily explainable. Our brains do a lot of «post-processing» to the things we take in through our senses. This illusion is so powerful that it can make ordinary faces appear to look completely alien.
Keep all this in mind when you’re looking up in the sky — sometimes our senses can fool us and change our perception. Another really interesting one is called the [Chronostatis](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronostasis). You should definitely read up on it but another name for it is «frozen clock illusion.»
Have you ever looked at an older analog clock and noticed that when you first look at it, it will sometimes appear to be frozen or stuck for a lot longer than one second? This is part of the Chronostasis illusion. This illusion can fool us when we look up and see an object in a number of ways. It can make a moving object appear to be still and suddenly teleport to another location. It can make an object appear to jerk suddenly from a stationary position.
A lot of these illusions are just artifacts from how our brains process complex stimuli in real-time.
Have you ever thought that all people on Earth are basically the same being? Just different looks, souls but the very same brain. Our collective is being hidden from us by evil forces me thinks.

Nice try, Zorlax.

And I thought this was a message about being rude to your friends and colleagues , whose faces are already buried inside their phones
I want reparations for the time I lost
