In my experience I would say they are neither benevolent or malevolent, they just do as they please to further their understanding of things. They scared me due to the unexpected nature of it not because that’s what they intended to do. I assume it’s the same when we experiment on things like Monkeys or Rabbits
I dont believe in that.why would they let humans become a species of hate,war,greed and more.Since the dawn of humans we dont get any far besides technological advanced and even that harms as more than it helps.
I dont see any miracles happening and the world gets worse and worse.Humans are even capable to destroy themselves in 1 day using nuclear warfare. I just believe that we are completely irrelevant in the universe and if the luck is not in our favour one cosmical event can wipe us out in a second.

I figure they are benevolent or at the worst neutral. If they have or are here, why haven’t they taken us out yet if that was their goal? Because it’s not. Why disarm nukes and show they are able to do this no matter how «secure» or «hidden» they are. They are either conservationists not wanting to mess with the slightly smarter «monkeys» or they don’t want to impose or can’t impose their will on us. I feel that we are a «child» civilization, and they are letting us learn what is good and bad by getting bumps and bruises as a species rather than being a helicopter parent. Honestly I would prefer an overbearing doting interstellar big brother or parent, and not let us grab the knives, matches, and other dangerous items that we are too young to be «playing» with. Nukes are species ending and I think this has made them more aware that they need to step in before we harm our species and there is no coming back from a handful of pushes of buttons. Over the children not knowing how to share with each other and play nicely.
Battle for souls is so dumb, souls would come from reproducing which would happen more if we were not intelligent. So less iq would lead to more breeding
