Let it be skeptical. Makes the revelation all the sweeter.
I can understand why this hinges on actual evidence but like cmon. These are highly highly secret programs. I honestly think they would kill you before you could leak images to the press.
They’re right, we need real evidence. Not sure we’re going to get it.
> They highlight the cyclical nature of «UFO narratives» — a sensational claim is made, often by a government or military insider, yet the hard evidence always seems to be just out of reach. Official denials only stoke the conspiracy theories further. Rinse and repeat.
This is how it goes though, isn’t it? Some ex-gov person saying «trust me bro», official gov agencies going «nah that’s bs» and then nothing comes of it? Skepticism is warranted lol.
> The Atlantic strikes a much more skeptical tone. Some writers and outlets will be much slower to the uptake than others.
Even when we (hopefully eventually) have undeniable proof and alien crafts and beings out in public and actively studied, there’s still going to be otherwise very credible people that simply cannot accept that we aren’t at the top of the food chain, that aliens are actually real, that they found us long before we found them, and etc.
What people perceive as common knowledge can often turn into beliefs after living with said knowledge for many many years of their lives, and those beliefs form personality and ego and the foundation of a person’s character.
Those people teach their common knowledge beliefs to their kids and whoever else looks up to them, and so if you say something that opposes what they’ve been taught, they take offense to that because you are effectively saying the person they look up to is an idiot or just completely wrong, when in their eyes they’re supposed to always be right.
Some people are genuinely *offended* that you would *dare* suggest humans actually aren’t the smartest beings around, that we actually aren’t the most powerful, or that some conspiracy theories like UFOs and aliens are actually based on a cold hard reality. At that point it’s just proof of an actual ongoing conspiracy.
People don’t like to feel stupid, to have been wrong their entire lives, so they will fight as much as humanly possible to avoid having to accept any of it.
I fully imagine Neil DeGrasse Tyson will be the very last human to ever accept any of this. Maybe Elon Musk, because his ego is so large he thinks if anyone is aware of aliens existing, he would be the only one special enough to be the first to know, therefore they cannot exist.
I’m an empiricist, gotta see something.
Pretty accurate tbh. Think back on this in two weeks and ask yourself: are we really closer than we were in May?
Terrible article. Adds absolutely nothing to the narrative.
They are writing articles but I barely see anyone calling it breaking news. Thr Trump bs is getting the news
