Corsham: You Won't Believe What's Hidden Beneath This Quaint English Town
The story was so cute, no-one freaked out and they even gave him a burial.
Shame about the windmill and garden 😀
Kind of strange the “much nearer to earth then ever before” is a weird thing to say unless you’ve seen such a craft before. Mentioning the speed as slow comparatively is also interesting.
Papers on his person……..a legit card carrying 👽
Somebody in Texas is gonna rummage through great grandma’s attic one day and find a micro-fusion reactor.
Wouldn’t that be nuts, we finally get disclosure because the weird glowing lamp thing Nana had on the shelf her entire life falls off one day causing an 80 megaton antimatter explosion removing a 30 mile hemisphere of Texas and nobody wants to take the blame so they pin it on the aliens.
Here is a good piece on it by somebody who investigated it.

[Hoax](https://www.dallasnews.com/news/2018/04/16/fake-news-from-wise-county-brought-ufo-believers-to-aurora-eventually/?outputType=amp) to drum up business in a dying town.
According to the lore, a ship had been spotted in a few places over the previous couple of weeks. It was assumed that this was the same craft. There was a show that tracked down the location of the grave. But if I recall correctly, investigators were not able to get permission to dig up the grave. I will post a link if I can find it.
This was during the weird airship wave of the late 1890s right?
So the ship was only flying 10-12 mph and was making a gradual descent but the crash was so bad as to “badly disfigure” the pilot and the remains of the ship were “too badly wrecked to form any conclusion as to its construction?”
I love that the proper spelling before was «to-day» and «to-morrow». That’s how old and legendary this story is, guys.
They carried papers? 🤔 The papers didn’t get destroyed nor burned in the crash. 🙄 Really believable story. 🤣
I heard the judge came out with this as being a hoax to attract more people to a dying city, they found no pieces of shipwreck in the well, and theres probably no alien in the grave 🤷♂️

Why would ultra endurable alloy explode when hitting a windmill at 12 miles an hour
Ship able to traverse space, gets wrecked by wooden windmill @12mph
This sub has been on a month long binge of «repost every old hoax that was long ago proven to be a hoax because now completely unrelated events might suddenly make old hoaxes true.»
«The pilot’s funeral…»
Now THAT’S the America that I want to see again! You might be Martian, but dadbern it, your soul departed on American soil, and down here we honor explorers and take care of our guests!
While I’d love it to be true I’m with the theory the town agreed to make the story up to bring tourism to their dying town (the train routed to not stop in aurora). Also explains why they refused to allow the pilot to be exhumed. It’s the most plausible explanation.
Wonder if someone ever cared to find and dig the grave.
So the ship “exploded” and “too badly wrecked” but the papers somehow survived
Alien: «Yeah I traveled lightyears but in this one planet I collided into a whimsy wooden windmill with canvas blades, and it just shattered my interstellar gravity defying space craft»

There was some mystery airship wave in the late 1890s. Might be connected as it falls into this time. I also remember having heard about it before and about some crash even.

lol right… The alien from Mars was traveling with papers 😂. You realize how ridiculously fake that sounds with our current day knowledge?
This story is bullshit. It’s been making rounds for years…
“A signal service officer at this place and an authority on astronomy” … said it came from Mars. 🤣
Cameras existed then right? So why no photos? Sounds sus
Whats the deal with aliens continuously crashing in the desert? Are they stupid or something?
This isn’t real.
Lmao they gave the alien a burial
can we stop reposting some stuff and have a megathread of commonly reported things
And did you know that this is made up? Or you did but still posted it? This sub turns into r/AWLIAS

Papers? What trees on mars made paper?
Why would an alien have paper?
So around the time HG Wells «War of the Worlds» was released. Always seemed amazing in the 1800s people could imagine flying machines.
Wow, that’s one old alien pilot! He must have some epic stories to tell. Thanks for sharing!
They determined the pilot was a Male and from Mars based on his papers, but they couldn’t read them. Good thing they recognized the alien words for Mars and Male though. When is Duolingo going to add alien to its language repertoire so we can gain more information from this guys papers?

The author of the story said it was made up. It didn’t happen.
