  1. On September 10, 2001, then U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld disclosed that his department was unable to account for roughly $2.3 trillion worth of transactions.

By 2015, the amount reported missing by the Office of the Inspector General had increased to $6.5 trillion—and that was just for the army.

Using public data from federal databases, Mark Skidmore, a professor of economics at Michigan State University, found that $21 trillion in unsupported adjustments had been reported by the Defense and Housing and Urban Development departments between 1998 and 2015.

Jim Minnery of the Defense Finance and Accounting Service traveled the country in 2002 looking for documents on just $300 million worth of unrecorded spending. “We know it’s gone. But we don’t know what they spent it on,” he said. He was reassigned after suggesting that higher-ups covered up the problem by writing it off.

“The books are cooked routinely year after year,” says former defense analyst Franklin C. Spinney.  “The books are cooked routinely year after year,” says former defense analyst Franklin C. Repeated for emphasis.

  2. The congress is usually very willing to throw money at the DOD whenever they want for whatever they want no questions asked. They routinely lose trillions of tax payer dollars and cannot account for how it was spent. As much as I would like for it to be this simple, I cannot help but think that the speaker was simply trying to deflect a difficult question. I think if it was just about the money, we wouldn’t be seeing things unfolding at what I would consider a break-neck speed in Washington right now. The hurried pace of the hearings and bills being drawn up by members of Congress makes me think they know something big is on the horizon and they truly need to act fast.

  3. Oh it is most definitely about money. Imagine if we had limitless energy, vehicles that could travel from Tokyo to London in minutes, and the ability to instantly disperse resources across the globe.

All of the power structures that run our world would crumble. Particularly the oil and gas industries followed by the military industrial complex.

  4. Rumsfeld announced trillions were missing the day before 9/11 and nobody cares still 22 years later. I find it hard to believe they are playing this level of charades for more funding that can easily disappear without making any noise. Just my opinion, I have no idea what’s happening.

  5. The DoD has never successfully passed an audit since they have been done. The DoD isn’t worried about money.

Something else is driving this and to be completely honest I’ll be shocked if it doesn’t end up being a nothing burger after all this hype.

  6. As hard as it is to swallow, this doesn’t necessarily point to reverse engineering, etc. of «off world» vehicles, it just means we’ve perfected the accounting methods for hiding vast amounts of wasted money, sadly.

  7. Seems that the lights have been kept on and the alien bodies frozen at the expense of stolen Pentagon funding, human trafficking and other illegal activites for all these years. Now that its being exposed someone is going to have to pay the bills at all these facilities and its the American tax payer.

  8. Money is part of it, but not in the «give the pentagon more money» sense. If they wanted more money they’d just ask. We’d give it to them and not ask for a receipt, or proper accounting. At least 2 or 3 times in the last 5 years we’ve already given them more money than they’ve asked for anyway. McCarthy knows that better than anybody.

It’s been said that the security for «the program» is up to 7 times the cost of the actual program. Down grade the security and your dollar goes that much farther. Might be the same reason the DNI and Chris Mellon are complaining about over classification in general and this year’s NDAA is proposing a bunch of changes to the declassification rules. Boxes and boxes of documents, and servers upon servers of classified documents, and dealing with request after request from FOIA activists like Greenwalde adds up.

  9. The groundwork for funding the deep basement stuff goes back to before the official founding of the DoD, the NSA, or even the Air Force. We were looking to take down a UFO(s) since before we actually did it in 1947. So, the mechansim for funding has always been there.

  10. Not a chance. The govt has basically an endless money supply. They’ve been diverting money to black projects for forever. They don’t need to ask. Look at the money going to Ukraine, look at the planeloads of cash we’ve sent overseas.

  11. I’ve been thinking this for a couple weeks now, especially with the sidebars on the pentagon’s massive accounting malfeasance. I hope I’m wrong, but I’m kind of steeling myself for this to turn out to be be the biggest grift in human history.

  12. This is the flimsiest reason ever. The milindcomp takes as much money as they need and reps and dems give it to them without batting an eye. We give them the lions share of a trillion dollars annually. If they wanted more, they would just get more. They wouldn’t have to stage the greatest hoax of literally all time.

    Kid: «Hey can I get more money?»
    Mom: «For the movies tonight?»
    Kid: «No…I need more money for…..school supplies.»
Mom: «Here, take extra for snacks.»
Kid: «muahaha my ploy to get extra money for snacks worked»

  13. I believe the people in the house and senate truly didn’t know and now that they are more aware of this they want to wet their beak. It’s always about money, now these other companies will need to start “$taking care$” of congress and senate.
