  1. My concern with Elizondo has less to do with him grifting, it has more to do with him being a counter-intelligence spook who was apparently involved with Gitmo (and his father was apparently involved in the Bay of Pigs fiasco). This guy’s background is as sketchy as sketch gets and I simply will never trust someone that deeply involved in some of the darkest shit the US has done in its history. As far as I’m concerned, anyone involved with Gitmo lacks any moral compass and is probably a sociopath. I’m amazed no one has made a bigger deal out of what Elizondo actually did in his intelligence career, but that’s probably by design. The fact that his fingerprints are on all of this so-called post-2017 «disclosure» makes me extremely wary.

  2. After finding out this West guy had issues with ufos/abductions in his childhood, it all made sense with him afterwards. If this stuff traumatized Mick at a young age then he’s going be adamant on debunking everything he can see and touch. There’s “I want to believe” skeptics and then there’s “I don’t want to believe.” He’s setting himself up for something Catastrophic I’ll say that much.

  3. Mick provides value to this community in that if something IS bullshit, his ass will sniff it out.

Saying that though, there is definitely a NHI here and he’s in for a shock.

  4. This goes way way back, The Apostles did the same thing, Plato was in on it. Herodotus gave it some swagger, and lets not forget the Roman Stoics. All grifting their way to the other end of their book deals.

And that was even long before Gutenberg created the book press. Since then it really got out of hand, and we had to create public libraries to support the hordes of folks that joined The Great Grift Of The Upcoming Book.

  5. Lue Elizondo having a book isn’t what makes him a grifter. It’s interesting how you completely ignore the whole pretending to be the director of AATIP to give himself credibility within the media thing. That seems much more important to his story than him having a book. Mick West has never lied about his credentials to gain credibility.

  6. Two aspects of debunking that I do not understand …

    1. Debunkers now KNOW that they’ve been played as pawns in a decades-long disinformation campaign to discredit UFOs. How anybody could continue to play the part of a cuck, carrying the government’s water in an effort to deceive the general population, is a mystery. Now that the truth is coming out, why would anybody care to hold on to this way of thinking?

    2. The focus of debunkers is on the wrong thing. Here we have an unknown, incredible mystery facing us, and they focus on debunking videos because somebody mistook a bug for a UFO. Talk about missing the big picture. I’m baffled how anybody could find that more interesting than the phenomenon itself.

  7. I appreciate mick west because I was deeply shook at a point during my “research” into this stuff. I couldn’t sleep. Then I decided that I would adopt mick west approach and just believe it’s all false and that worked but these new ufo revelations with grush. It’s like a new chapter and now here I am. 3 am and I can’t sleep because I’m reading American cosmic and Gary Nolan starts talking about bedeviled entities.

    Ugh

  8. I find it deeply disturbing that so many accept the whole grifter discussion. It’s ridiculous.

Honestly I couldn’t care one bit of Mick is trying to make his followers buy a book. The last idiot hasn’t been born yet and he should be free to trick people out of their cash.

But the whole grifter accusation movement needs to stop.

  9. The grifting is the cause and the effect is the debunking. There is a difference. And if the grifters went away, so would the debunkers. Or the need/market for them.

Luckily for all of them, they have the ufo community.

  10. Mick’s commemts are almost always heresay. The trouble is, no one investigates or can do to test his theory. Which is all it is, just theory. That said, some things he says are just whacky. Almost like he is being a skeptical for the sake of being skeptical and I’m sure he has said that once before.

Anyway, yeah. Good to have someone to make us step back a bit and look at things again.

  11. I don’t think dismissing someone as a grifter is very helpful at all. People are motivated by all sorts of things constantly.

That said, if someone is making a positive claim without evidence, you’re reliant on how credible they are. Once Mick West makes one of these claims, I’ll question his credibility.

None of this part matters, though. We’re all going to just have to wait and see. I still think it’s still most likely we never see any evidence that proves Elizondo’s claims of aliens.
