  1. Well if it is the writing of NHI, then trying to decipher it using any human language as a reference will be troublesome. I mean what if their alphabet has 42 letters or 60,000 images, they might not even have the concept of vowels and consonants, etc etc etc

  2. Title pretty much states it. But yeah, do you guys know if anyone has ever tried to analyze this thing?

I’m sure a lot of you guys know the story behind this, but just in case: This was part of the Barney/ Betty Hill close encounter case. During the encounter (recalled through hypnosis), Betty asked one of the beings that had just finished their medical research on her a few questions. Of those, she asked if she could take back some sort of proof of the encounter, and picked up what appeared to be a book on their counter. She was originally told that she could take this but later on, she recalled that there was a disagreement between the beings and eventually she wasn’t permitted to take the book back with her.

Under hypnosis, she was able to recall what the front of the book looked like with the symbols seen in the image.

I mean I understand that she drew this based off information that she recalled during hypnosis and it might not be entirely reliable, but do you guys have any idea if any linguists or anyone at all has looked at this? I can’t really find anything online and even trying to find this image was a struggle.

So yea, any help would be greatly appreciated!!

  3. I’m not aware of any analysis. Some of the symbols look familiar to anyone with a keyboard, while others not so much. For fun, I took a stab at trying to match them to Unicode characters (using [this website](https://shapecatcher.com/)) and came up with some possible matches:

    1. Obvious match for variants of Greek letter theta: ϴ

    2. Katakana letter «ri»: ㇼ

    3. Katakana letter «n» or «so»: ン or ソ

    4. Katakana letter «pe» (closest thing I saw but not a good match): ペ

    5. Telugu letter vocalic «r» (also not a great match): ఋ

    6. Obvious match for division symbol: ÷

    7. Looks a lot like a w, omega, or inverted m. No good matches otherwise.

    8. Obvious match for the percent sign: %

    9. No good matches

    10. No good matches

    11. No good matches

Edited to add the following: As I mentioned in another comment below, if we assume that this is coming from an NHI writing system that is completely isolated from human languages and writing systems, then trying to relate those symbols to corresponding symbols in human writing systems would almost certainly be a waste of time. But if we consider other possibilities (like ongoing NHI contact over millennia where our languages and writings might occasionally interact), then it would be worth at least a cursory check to see what similarities might be there.

  4. Another interesting thing I’ve found out was that of the Roswell I beam and the hieroglyphs depicted on that. But that just brings more confusion, as far as I can tell the Betty and Barney hill case was an encounter with the “grays”, so was the Roswell case. However the hieroglyphs appear somewhat different and the Roswell ones are left to right whereas these are top to bottom.

  5. No way of deciphering NHI characters without a specific reference point to the linguistics of the characters being discussed. You’d need something to reference linguistically as an identifier for each symbol and then compare that to English.

  6. Not me but I do know under regression hypnosis Betty asked where they came from. And one of them went over and pointed to a map in the wall she then would draw the map and it showed they were from Zeta Reticula

  7. To me, it looks like 10 or 11 of the laziest drawings of symbols that a person could come up with. Mostly variations on very basic lines and circles.

I cannot imagine why anyone would take this seriously.

  8. I think betty hill is lying or thinks she’s telling the truth but mistaken. Either way, the most interesting NHI writing discussion is still the CARET disclosure that hasn’t really been debunked despite people saying it was. Not saying it’s true it’s just interesting.

  9. I doubt that is enough content letter wise or symbol wise to decipher anything of value. Other than guesses. You gotta see it in use, ideally being able to assume some level of content it’s speaking to.

  10. Is anyone able to compare these symbols to the planets most ancient languages? Sumerian? Mesopotamia? Indus valley in India or Gobekli Teke?
Or even match up crop circles that aren’t man made?
    We need an ancient linguist.

  11. That looks a lot like «Caret» font by Caret Labs presumably. That’s a very interesting company in its own right if you look at their website.

It’s the font used and popularized by Alienware, but they didn’t invent it and it has no copyright and is freely usable. Its origins are very unclear and some suggesting it was leaked to the developers. It goes by various names and many font artists have created stylized permutations of it, but it looks basically like this:

My gut tells me it’s a real non-terestrial language and potentially infuenced human languages in the deep past, including Katakana and Greek, meaning that it may have some degree of direct translationability to the proto versions of those languages, like Ainu:

  12. Had a dream when I was about 5 about these aliens that land a ship in the empty parking lot across the street from my house and I saw symbols like this on the ship . I can’t remember exactly what they were but I always knew they looked weird and this is the exact style they were in. Really trippy dream where they take everyone onto their ship and the people are floating in front of them as they float in and out of the houses.

  13. I don’t think it specifically analyses the Betty Hill writing, but a book you might be interested in is “Symbolic Messages” by Mario Pazzaglini (1991). He was a clinical psychologist who got interested in alien writing — be it from UFO abductees/contactees, channeled material, magic sigils, religious visions. He collected as many examples as he could (even experimented with automatic writing himself), and this self published book is a summary of his findings.

It is only 91 pages, but I think it is a great source. In addition to categorizing various forms of “alien” script (geometric, cursive, archetypal, etc), he provides examples of various obscure Earthly scripts to compare.

I think there is a pdf online somewhere, it is hard to find a physical copy. [Here](https://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/vida_alien/esp_vida_alien_54.htm) is a nice interview with Dr. Pazzaglini about his alien writing hobby.
