2 комментарий для “Джон Сопел и Эмили Мейтлис на слушаниях UAP.”
Submission Statement: Jon Sopel and Emily Maitlis (both very reputable) interviewed Pippa Malmgrem on their “News Agents” podcast regarding David Grusch and UAP more generally.
This was first broadcast on 7 June but I can’t find any reference to it on the sub, apologies if missed.
Pippa Malmgrem is an economist and former special advisor to GWB. It’s interesting to see both Sopel and Maitlis take the issue seriously.
Yeah Emily is as mainstream as they come in the UK.
Her reaction towards the end was , «isn’t there a danger this will fuel right wing conspiracy nuts»
This reflects THE FUNDAMENTAL MISTAKE of the current mainstream intellectual elite: they think that the rise of far right populism is only or mainly driven by religious zealots and bigots.
IT IS ONLY PARTIALLY driven by those things. A large driver are REAL perceived injustices, people HAVE lost jobs to globalisation, inequality HAS increased, the government REALLY HAS lied to people time and time again.
So her implication that bringing to light government lies will somehow fuel the far right is a fundamental misconception: it is the actual lying and REAL deep state conspiracy that fuels extremism (along with other things). Acknowledging these real government failings is THE ONLY WAY to stop people getting sucked into dangerous nonsense like Q Anon etc.
