Hey everyone, I just thought of this while drunk and high but hear me out. What if the mucus / snot substance that was coating them was either a flame retardant of some kind or a chemical reaction from any fire suppression system on them? This could be organic or chemical agents being sprayed within a craft that is about to crash or post-crashing. OR perhaps they aren’t naturally lethal to humans and was a byproduct of burn relief or burn treatment on the creature. Just a thought that I hadn’t heard theorized. Which is their toxicity to humans could also be a byproduct of another process to defend the creature or treat them.
It has some differences between your version and the ones that circulated in brazil at the time, mainly the 3 bumps on the head. Some artistic freedom, maybe? Otherwise and nonetheless, pretty cool, non digital, drawing. Really creepy!
It is hard to believe that such creature with those extremities would have the dexterity to become an advanced species. Most likely was cargo being transported to an unknown location.
