Beautifully composed.
Has anyone ever stood off camera and threw a ufo Looking frisbee just to see if that’s feasible with these old cameras?
That’s not Santa Monica. There is no peninsula close enough south of the city that juts out west enough to take this photo. And it’s not north of the city otherwise the ocean would be on the other side. The photo looks to be shot from from Palos Verdes and the city below is Redondo Beach and the craft looks like it’s hovering right over Rat Beach. This is just about a mile from where the crow flies to where the “Battle of LA” took place in the 1940’s
Meet George Jetson
Looks like the sport model
Why is the object not the centre/focus of the picture?
If the original intent of taking the photo was to get a picture of a flying saucer (and was not staged) then you’d think that there would have been a better attempt at capturing it.
It’s a toy dangling from a line, and it’s probably closer to the camera than what it’s made out to be.
Whenever I see a vintage UFO photo from this era, I think of a toy flying saucer that my brothers had that really flew. It was powered by a little 049 Cox gas engine. As I recall, one of the neighbors actually did report it to the police as a UFO.

Not that I’m saying this is what’s in the photo
I want to believe
Can I get a banana for sca…. Oh! Already have one.
*We can live beside the ocean*
Great picture. Love seeing my friends who are shy make themselves visible for a picture. You were chosen for a reason, well done.
I’m pretty sure that’s a flare.
What more do we know about her and the photo?
Looks legit af
Kenneth Arnold said the objects skipped along like saucers, he didn’t say the objects looked like a saucer. Saucer UFO pics are fake IMO.
Interesting photo, thanks for sharing.
To me the interesting part is the height and the angle of the object, it looks to be perfectly horizontally aligned, quite high up.
That’s imo an impossible throw of a blob like frisbee unless it’s coming from a much higher position than that of the photographer.
(Edit: Swenglish)
Could be a saucer. Could also be a bird in flight.
If you turn the picture upside down, you will see that it is a reflection. The object in the picture is a rock.

1979 UFOs clear as day, 2023 UFO fuzzy out of focus blob.
Surprised its not a convertible (Cali)
Looks legit to me! I enhanced it and I can’t find any fakery!

Great photo but I think it looks too small and near. It would be hazier if it was real, judging by the background imo.
If it’s got a nice little dome on top I tend to cry faaaaaake.
Why are these old ufo photos never actually centered on the ufo? The ufo is always off to the side like someone added it there after the photo was took.
I thought I was looking for the lochness monster. But then I realised some bloke launched his diner plate because his wife had burnt his diner again.
The hanging model close to the camera makes the most sense here. The picture has deep depth of field, the amount of haze that should appear over the craft if it’s at any significant distance (more than 100-200ft) doesn’t seem to be there.
Something closer to camera (20 to 30ft) and small is what this appears to be to me.
Someone asked why these types of fakes aren’t seen much these days, I would venture to say that this method which requires a few crafts and tricks to set up is outweighed by fakes which are just digital composites. While the qualities of older polaroid film such as dynamic range and color information may have aided in the hiding of thin fishing line at a distance, It would be a little more difficult these days to convince anyone that during a modern ufo sighting, you chose to snap it with a Polaroid that was hanging around your neck.
It looks like the Sport Model.
Y’all can speculate all you want but until you’ve seen a legit ufo in front of your eyes you won’t be able to deny anyone that claims they’ve seen one. It’s undeniable and the mark it leaves on you is weird, kinda like the supernatural, just a feeling of how?
